Responsibilities
You'll analyze invitation-to-bid (ITB) documents, including construction drawings, specifications, and scope of work documents to determine the electrical requirements for data center and other complex projects
You'll perform detailed quantity take-offs (QTOs) using digital take-off software (e.g., Bluebeam, Accubid, LiveCount)
You'll prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other direct costs
You'll solicit, analyze, and level vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure completeness and competitiveness
You'll develop detailed basis of estimate (BOE) documentation, outlining assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications
You'll collaborate with the operations and pre-construction team to develop value-engineering ideas and constructability reviews
You'll participate in pre-bid and post-bid meetings (virtually) with clients, engineers, and general contractors
You'll utilize estimating software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst, McCormick) to build and format professional proposals
You'll maintain current knowledge of electrical codes, industry standards, material pricing, and labor rates
You'll manage multiple estimates simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 4+ years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in the construction industry
Direct experience with data center projects is required
Proven experience estimating large-scale commercial or industrial electrical projects
Proficiency with electrical estimating software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst) and digital take-off tools (e.g., Bluebeam Revu)
Preferred
In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including but not limited to: primary and secondary power distribution, emergency/back-up power systems (generators, UPS, ATS), branch power, lighting, fire alarm, and grounding
Exceptional analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and RFPs independently
