Responsibilities
Perform and prioritize STAT, routine, and specialized laboratory testing
Analyze patient specimens using manual and automated laboratory systems
Conduct and document quality control (QC) procedures in accordance with established protocols
Ensure adherence to CAP, CLIA, and other regulatory standards
Assist the Laboratory Manager/Supervisor with daily operations and staffing support
Support training, onboarding, and competency assessments for laboratory personnel
Delegate testing based on patient acuity, staff competency, and productivity guidelines
Monitor workflow and communicate operational updates to laboratory leadership
Lead by example, fostering teamwork, accountability, and a patient-focused culture
Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with departmental policies
Qualification
Required
Associate Degree in Science (Required)
Active State of Florida Technologist Supervisory License (Required)
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Medical Technologist
Prior experience in a hospital or acute-care laboratory environment
Strong understanding of laboratory regulations, QC, and compliance standards
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field (Preferred)
ASCP or equivalent certification (Preferred)
