Production Control Specialist

Responsibilities

Plans and prepares manufacturing production schedules, assesses changes and improves processes as necessary. Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, delivery performance, and reliability
Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, and other groups
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to achieve cost savings and value
Create and manage purchase orders in accordance with demand forecasts and inventory levels
Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, finance, engineering, merchandising) to understand purchasing needs
Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, and supplier documentation
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and applicable regulations
Support inventory management by balancing availability with cost control
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction initiatives
This will be an onsite role in our Andover, MA facility

Required

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field
Experience to include planning, scheduling, production control, supply chain, manufacturing, operations, finance, project management or a related field

Preferred

Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts with a proven track record of lean or six sigma project implementations
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Proficiency in ERP or purchasing systems and Microsoft Excel
