Mid LevelPentangle Tech Services is seeking a Plant Modeling Engineer to develop and validate mathematical and simulation models that represent real-world systems, particularly focusing on powertrain and dynamic system behavior. The role involves building, simulating, and optimizing plant models for control development, system validation, and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing while collaborating closely with various engineering teams.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain plant models for mechanical, electrical, and powertrain systems
Build and run simulations using MATLAB/Simulink to analyze system performance and dynamics
Support HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) simulations for controller development and validation
Integrate plant models with control algorithms and test environments
Validate models against test data and refine them for accuracy and efficiency
Document modeling assumptions, methodologies, and results clearly
Collaborate cross-functionally with controls, software, and test teams
Qualification
Required
Strong experience in Plant Modeling and system-level simulation
Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulation
Experience with HIL simulations and real-time modeling environments
Solid understanding of powertrain systems (ICE, hybrid, or electric)
Background in system dynamics, control systems, or physical modeling
Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot models, and improve fidelity
Preferred
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or related Engineering field
Experience with real-time simulation tools (e.g., dSPACE, NI, Speedgoat, or similar)
Familiarity with model-based design and V-cycle development
Automotive, industrial, or embedded systems experience
