ANALYST I
The California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) is seeking a Data Analyst for their Patient Data Section. The role involves collecting and editing comprehensive patient data, ensuring compliance with confidentiality regulations, and contributing to insights that inform healthcare policy and practice.

Responsibilities
Collects and edits comprehensive demographic, diagnostic and treatment information of all patients that were either Discharged from a California hospital, treated in a hospital emergency department, or have had an ambulatory surgery procedure in a hospital or a freestanding licensed surgical clinic
Responsible for the safe and secure handling of confidential patient data in compliance with specific statutes and regulations, and HCAI policies and procedures

Required
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment

Preferred
At least 6 months experience in handling/disseminating confidential data
At least 6 months customer service experience
At least 6 months experience documenting facilities communications
At least 6 months experience with data review and analysis
At least 6 months familiarity with the Healthcare field, medical records, and/or International Classification of Diseases or Current Procedural Terminology coding
At least 6 months experience both working independently and with coordination of others on a project
At least 6 months experience with the interpretation or application of laws, regulations, or requirements
