Research Analyst

The American Friends Service Committee is a Quaker religious organization that promotes lasting peace with justice. The BDS Research Analyst will initiate and manage strategic corporate research projects to support BDS advocacy goals at various levels, collaborating with program staff and partners.

Responsibilities

Initiate, lead, craft, and participate in the Action Center’s research projects. This includes the coordination of collaborative research project with multiple partners or the in-depth strategic analysis of BDS corporate targets
Represent and promote the Action Center’s BDS work within AFSC networks, movement coalitions, and professional networks
Initiate, lead, support, and participate in corporate accountability and divestment campaigns. Create and produce educational and training materials and toolkits for BDS campaigns
Lead, support, and participate in Action Center activities as needed, including training, educational events, and other activities
Regular attendance and punctuality are required
Operates safely in all conditions and follows policies and procedures
Other duties and projects as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required showing corresponding research and writing skills required
Minimum 1 year in leadership BDS Campaigns required
Ability to work evenings and/or weekends and to travel
Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment
Experience with standard Microsoft Office and related technology
Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities
Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with diverse staff
Respect for Quaker values and testimonies
Knowledgeable and supportive of the principles and philosophy of the American Friends Service Committee including non-violence and the belief in the intrinsic worth of every individual
Respect for and sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, racial, gender and religious diversity and familiarity with non-violent approaches to problem solving
Ability to organize, plan ahead and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Preferred

Preferred candidate will have two years of experience in strategic corporate research
Strategic corporate research and BDS activism preferred
