The Intrepid Museum seeks a strategic and creative fundraising leader to drive growth in annual giving and membership programs. The Director of Annual Giving & Membership will play a pivotal role in building a strong base of philanthropic support and deepening engagement with our community of donors and members.

Responsibilities

Lead Annual Giving Strategy: Design and execute multi-channel campaigns (print, digital, and email) that grow donor participation and revenue. Monitor performance metrics and deliver actionable insights through regular reporting
Grow Membership Programs: Oversee household and library membership programs, ensuring benefits remain competitive and engaging. Drive acquisition and retention through creative marketing and cultivation events
Innovate Communications: Develop and oversee donor-centric content, including solicitations, newsletters, event invitations, and stewardship materials that reflect the Museum’s mission and impact
Cultivate Relationships: Partner with the VP and advancement team to identify prospects, manage cultivation and solicitation strategies, and ensure exceptional donor stewardship
Manage Budgets & Analytics: Collaborate on annual revenue and expense budgets. Maintain accurate donor data and generate reports using Tessitura CRM
Collaborate Across Teams: Support museum-wide initiatives and events that strengthen donor and member engagement

Required

Bachelor's degree; advanced degree is a plus
5–7 years of experience leading membership and annual giving programs, ideally in a museum or cultural institution
Proven success in creating innovative campaigns that drive measurable growth
Exceptional writing and communication skills with a talent for crafting persuasive, mission-driven messaging
Strong project management skills; ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated commitment to the highest ethical standards and professional conduct
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain trust at all times
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization
Proven ability to analyze complex challenges, think critically, and develop creative solutions
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail; adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Familiarity with Tessitura or similar CRM systems
Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays
