Responsibilities
Lead and develop engineering team - Directly manage site engineering and maintenance staff with daily direction, coaching, performance feedback, and professional development
Oversee building systems operations - Manage daily operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and life-safety systems while monitoring performance
Coordinate maintenance activities - Plan and execute preventative and corrective maintenance with appropriate frequencies to ensure system uptime and reliability
Manage vendor and contractor oversight - Supervise contractors performing building systems work while ensuring safety, quality, and minimal operational disruption
Enforce safety and compliance standards - Maintain safe work practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and address hazards or system deficiencies with proper documentation
Support planning and continuous improvement - Partner with Facility Manager on maintenance planning, reliability-based practices, and operational improvements
Manage resources and special projects - Oversee tools, spare parts, equipment inventories, and assist with system upgrades and capital engineering initiatives
Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience in building engineering, facilities maintenance, or a related field
Prior experience leading or supervising engineering or maintenance staff
Strong hands-on knowledge of building systems and maintenance best practices
Experience coordinating contractors and managing maintenance work in an operational environment
Strong communication skills and a professional, service-oriented approach
Proficiency with CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office applications
Preferred
Associate's degree in an engineering or technical discipline
HVAC certification, operating engineer license, or equivalent credentials
Experience supporting complex or multi-building campus environments
