Business Development Representative
Shoplift is an A/B testing platform designed specifically for Shopify merchants, helping them optimize their ecommerce stores. The Business Development Representative will qualify inbound leads, book demos for Account Executives, and run educational outbound campaigns to assist ecommerce brands in their success.

Responsibilities
Qualify Inbound Leads (60% of time)
Respond to demo requests, app installs, and marketing leads within minutes
Cold call prospects to qualify fit: Do they have a Shopify store? Appropriate traffic/revenue? Valid CRO use case?
Determine if prospect meets ICP and route to the right AE
Book qualified demos for AEs when prospects are ready to evaluate
Manage follow-up sequences for leads not ready to buy now
Run Educational Outbound (30% of time)
Reach out to high-fit prospects (Shopify Plus brands, specific verticals, warm partner connections) to offer value first
Share free resources, lead magnets, and educational content about A/B testing and CRO
Offer to connect prospects with relevant people in our network (agencies, experts, other brands)
Build relationships by helping brands succeed, even if it doesn't result in an immediate demo
Test new messaging and approaches focused on education rather than hard selling
Partner with AEs (10% of time)
Attend AE demos and customer calls to learn the full sales cycle
Debrief on meetings you booked: What went well? What could improve?
Provide feedback on lead quality and help refine ICP
Shadow negotiations and closing calls as you prepare for AE promotion
Qualification
Required
1-2 years in sales, customer-facing, or high-volume customer success roles (recent grads with relevant internships welcome)
High-agency mindset - you take ownership, find solutions, and don't wait to be told what to do
Coachable and hungry - you want to learn sales and you're willing to take feedback and iterate quickly
Excellent communication - you're articulate on phone/video and can adapt your style to different prospects
Organized and process-driven - you manage your pipeline, follow up consistently, and hit activity targets
Resilient - you don't take rejection personally and you bounce back fast
Comfortable with autonomy - you thrive when given goals and trusted to figure out how to achieve them
Preferred
Interest in ecommerce or familiarity with Shopify
Experience with outbound prospecting or lead qualification
Background in startups or high-growth environments
