ESG Consulting is seeking a FHIR Interoperability Specialist to coordinate and support public health FHIR interoperability initiatives and related informatics projects. This role will involve working closely with internal teams and state IT partners to advance HL7 FHIR–based interoperability solutions to improve data exchange and public health reporting.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and support public health FHIR interoperability projects
Contribute to strategic FHIR initiatives , including agency-wide readiness and capacity building
Support the development and maintenance of a FHIR roadmap
Participate in and support HL7 FHIR accelerator initiatives (e.g., query/response and aggregate data use cases)
Assist with electronic data interchange (EDI) interoperability infrastructure and architecture enhancements
Collaborate with informatics, program, and IT stakeholders to support system integration and interoperability
Support projects related to electronic health records (EHRs) and public health data exchange
Contribute to presentations, documentation, and knowledge sharing related to interoperability standards
Participate in emergency response activities when required

Qualification

Required

Experience working with HL7 FHIR standards and interoperability concepts
Background in health informatics, public health informatics, health IT, or a related field
Understanding of system integration, data exchange, and interoperability frameworks
Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred

Experience with public health data systems or reporting
Familiarity with HL7 accelerator initiatives or large-scale interoperability programs
Experience supporting data modernization or enterprise interoperability efforts
Comfort with presenting technical or informatics topics to diverse audiences
