Responsibilities
Support engineering development activities such as design support, fabrication, assembly, modification, and testing of complex electro-mechanical medical devices
Build, assemble, and test R&D prototype systems throughout the development lifecycle
Assist with technology transfer from development to manufacturing
Support the development of test methods, fixtures, and experimental setups for internal R&D use
Participate in Reliability, Verification, and Validation (V&V) testing
Collect and document data for test reports, assembly instructions, and troubleshooting guides
Perform mechanical, electrical, and system-level troubleshooting, identifying root causes and supporting corrective actions
Execute rework, testing, and assemblies with high attention to detail and adherence to protocols
Work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment with a proactive, 'can-do' mindset
Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats
Qualification
Required
Education: Associate degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) or equivalent hands-on experience
5–7+ years in a technical role involving electrical, electronic, or mechanical assembly, fabrication, machining, harness builds, or system-level integration
Prior experience in R&D environments, preferably fast-paced and product-driven
Experience working on Class II or Class III medical devices
Strong proficiency with hand tools, soldering, precision measurement instruments, and electrical/mechanical test equipment
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, tolerances, and electrical schematics
Experience with machine shop tools is a strong plus
Experience preparing and following engineering documentation, procedures, and test protocols
Preferred
Familiarity with CAD software (preferred but not required)
Hands-on experience with 3D printing and post-processing is highly desirable
Working knowledge of FDA QSR, ISO quality systems, GMP, and GLP is preferred
