Project Controls & Work Management Planner
CAMS is seeking a Project Controls & Work Management Planner to support capital projects and ongoing major maintenance initiatives within the power generation and energy infrastructure sector. This role combines traditional project controls responsibilities with site management planning functions, providing disciplined planning and financial control in environments where project execution intersects with operating plant work management systems.

Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and update project cost forecasts and cash flow projections
Establish and maintain project cost control structures, including budgets, cost codes, and control accounts
Track and reconcile commitments, accruals, and actual costs against approved budgets
Support monthly cost reporting, variance analysis, and executive-level project dashboards
Assist with change management tracking, including cost impacts, contingency usage, and management of change logs
Coordinate with Finance to ensure alignment between project cost data and corporate financial systems
Support others in the development and maintenance of integrated project schedules (Primavera P6 or equivalent)
Support earned value–style progress tracking where appropriate
Develop and manage work orders to support project-related and major maintenance activities
Coordinate purchase requisitions (PRs) and purchase orders (POs) in support of project execution
Track material status, services procurement, and field readiness through the work management system
Support invoice review, validation, and payment processing, ensuring alignment with contract terms and work completion
Maintain work order cost accuracy to support project financial reporting and audits
Coordinate closely with site Maintenance and Operations to align project work with plant procedures and constraints
Serve as a key interface between Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Finance
Support EPC contractors and specialty vendors by ensuring work management and procurement processes are properly established
Assist with DOE, regulatory, or owner-required financial and progress reporting, as applicable
Participate in planning meetings, cost reviews, and schedule/status reviews
Ensure project controls and work management activities comply with owner standards, internal controls, and audit requirements
Support documentation and traceability for capital approval, procurement, and cost recovery
Maintain disciplined recordkeeping to support claims avoidance, audits, and regulatory reviews
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
4+ years of experience in project controls, work management planning, or cost/schedule roles
Working knowledge of project cost control, forecasting, and schedule integration
Experience supporting capital projects, environmental retrofits, outages, or major maintenance initiatives
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred
Experience supporting coal, gas, or renewable power generation facilities
Hands-on experience with IBM Maximo, including work orders, PRs, POs, and invoice workflows
Familiarity with Primavera P6, SAP, Oracle, or similar enterprise systems
Experience working in an Owner's Representative or hybrid owner/plant environment
Exposure to DOE-funded or regulated infrastructure projects
Ability to operate effectively in early-stage project development where roles are blended and evolving
