Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff to drive performance and professional growth of the accounting team
Oversee daily accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, month-end and year-end close, and financial reporting
Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support business decision-making
Ensure accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls across all accounting activities
Serve as the primary point of contact for the parent company, auditors, and tax advisors
Manage payroll accounting, cash flow planning, and liquidity
Improve accounting processes, systems, and workflows to enhance efficiency, automation, and reporting accuracy
Ensure timely and accurate completion of tax filings and regulatory requirements
Qualification
Required
8+ years of progressive accounting experience
Bilingual in Japanese and English
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects
Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and financial management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
