Responsibilities
Develop and maintain databases across the organization, while ensuring high levels of data availability
Evaluate and advise on all technology components, such as software, hardware, and networking capabilities, for database management systems and applications
Design and deploy data table structures, forms, reports, and queries
Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
Apply third party upgrades to existing databases
Identify inefficiencies in current databases and investigate solutions
Diagnose and resolve database access and performance issues
Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems
Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases
Ensure all database systems meet business and performance requirements
Produce ad-hoc queries and develop reports to support business needs
Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
Qualification
Required
Mobile-First API Development: Design and build secure, scalable REST/JSON (or GraphQL) APIs optimized for mobile consumption, including authentication, authorization, and versioning
Cloud-Native Backend Engineering: Develop and operate backend services in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS), integrating databases, third-party services, and monitoring/logging for reliability
Performance, Security & Scalability: Ensure low-latency responses, data protection, encryption, and the ability to scale as mobile usage and features grow
