Responsibilities
Serve as the senior technical authority for civil engineering design and analysis across all offices and projects
Establish, maintain, and enforce engineering design standards, manuals, and best practices aligned with applicable codes, regulations, and industry guidelines
Provide technical direction and peer review for civil engineering deliverables including drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and technical memoranda
Guide engineering teams in making sound engineering assumptions, judgments, and design decisions
Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and AHJ requirements
Oversee multi-disciplinary coordination from a technical integration perspective (civil, structural, geotechnical, MEP, traffic, etc.)
Support technically complex projects by resolving design challenges, constructability issues, and engineering risks
Lead, mentor, and technically develop senior engineers, discipline leads, and emerging professionals
Participate in hiring, evaluation, and advancement of civil engineering staff with emphasis on technical competency and leadership potential
Establish technical training pathways, mentoring programs, and knowledge-sharing initiatives
Support professional licensure, continuing education, and technical specialization within the team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE / P.Eng.) license
10+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering design, with demonstrated technical leadership
Strong background in civil engineering of private land development projects
Proven ability to lead technical teams and conduct senior-level engineering reviews
Deep knowledge of applicable codes, standards, permitting processes, and regulatory frameworks
Preferred
Master's degree
