ACCOUNTANT I (SPECIALIST)

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is the backbone of California’s health care safety net, and they are seeking an Accountant I (Specialist) to join their team. The role involves processing incoming cash receipts, making daily deposits, and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions while maintaining detailed financial logs and communication with vendors.

Provide essential support in processing incoming cash receipts and making daily deposits
Assist with mail processing, verifying and batching receipts, identifying appropriate accounting codes, and ensuring the accuracy of deposit transmittals
Research unidentified checks, maintain financial logs, prepare and distribute deposit reports, and handle stale-dated checks
