Responsibilities
Support statutory accounting for multiple insurance carriers, including month‑end journal entries (gross and net of reinsurance) using NetSuite
Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations
Prepare statutory (yellow‑book) financial reports
Record Accounts Payable and ensure all regulatory reporting and payment deadlines are met
Record STAT‑to‑GAAP conversion entries
Assist with internal and external audit requests
Prepare billings to reinsurers
Provide technical guidance to senior leaders
Perform financial analytics to explain fluctuations and uncover insights
Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency
Actively communicate with reinsurers, auditors, and external partners with professionalism and accuracy
Serve as an active team member, assisting and reviewing work of staff accountants as needed
Cross‑train team members and support knowledge sharing
Participate in special projects, including automation and streamlining initiatives within accounting and finance
Contribute to organizational success through ongoing learning and development
Qualification
Required
CPA required
Ideal background: external audit experience from Big 4 or regional firm, or a mix of public/private
Strong statutory & GAAP accounting knowledge required
Someone who enjoys working cross‑functionally, improving processes, and contributing to a collaborative team

Experience with NetSuite
