Business Development Manager-Southwest (Denver Metropolitan Area)
Edlong Flavor Solutions is seeking a Business Development Manager for the Southwest region, focusing on driving sales growth and maintaining key client relationships in the food and beverage industry. The role involves strategic planning, market analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet sales targets and ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Develop & execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue, profit & growth targets
Build & maintain long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders at multiple levels
Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities & trends
Provide consultative sales support to clients, understanding their needs & offering customized flavor solutions & promote a culture of “customer obsessed” internally
Collaborate with R&D, Product Development, Marketing, Customer Service, Pricing, Logistics, Regulatory & Operations teams to ensure alignment with client requirements
Prepare & deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals
Monitor & report on sales performance, market conditions, & competitor activities to contribute to Edlong’s long-term success, using dashboards & analyzing key metrics (i.e., pipeline progression, win rates, product launch KPIs, & new business developments, etc.)
Generate interest in Edlong’s capabilities by providing best in class support & service while leveraging the company’s expertise
Develop a strong pipeline of opportunities in salesforce.com or CRM system in key categories (i.e., prospecting, technical events, & international trade shows) & deliver the target win rate
Translate customer requirements to Edlong’s marketing, applications, & technical team to best deliver solutions & exceed customer expectations
Expand utilization of Edlong flavors across multiple applications & product categories by developing & nurturing enterprising business with both existing & new customers
Maintain & organize file documentation related to assigned work to ensure easy access for self- and team
Develop account plans & drive the execution of them for the top customers, & deliver sales metrics
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, an MBA degree is an advantage
5-7+ years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in the food & beverage industry
Strong understanding of flavor products & market dynamics. Prior experience with flavor sales highly desired
Excellent communication, negotiation, & presentation skills
Proven track record of achieving sales targets & driving business growth
Ability to work independently & part of a team
Fluency & basic comprehension in multiple languages is a plus
Ability to actively listen to customer needs & respond with appropriate product proposals to meet demands
Ability to deliver impactful presentations in person & via video-conference to customers, clients, or other employees
Ability to comply with procedures in completing written documentation & compile data into reports & summaries from sales or calls
Ability to perform, compute mathematical operations with a calculator, & apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, & proportions to practical situations
Ability to perform, compute mathematical operations, & apply concepts such as money, weight, volume, & distance to create & interpret graphs
Ability to calculate profit margins & prepare annual budgets
Ability to understand the impact of currency
Ability to work independently to define problems, collect data, establish facts, & draw valid conclusions
Ability to develop positive customer relationships & respond to inquiries or complaints from customers in a proactive manner
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form, deal with several abstract & concrete variables
Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, & Outlook)
Working knowledge of corporate productivity & online meeting/web presentation tools
Working knowledge of CRM tools & internal business software (i.e., Salesforce, ZoomInfo, & LinkedIn Sales Navigator)
