The Lead Security Engineer will apply extensive knowledge of computer and network security principles to ensure systems meet HHS security requirements and work closely with various stakeholders to implement appropriate security controls.

Responsibilities
The Lead Security Engineer will apply extensive knowledge of computer and network security principles, procedures, and technologies to ensure systems meet HHS security requirements
The role involves working closely with developers, system engineers, project managers, and internal clients throughout the system development process to identify required levels of protection and ensure appropriate security controls are implemented
The engineer will analyze HHS design requirements, evaluate system environments, and determine the most effective security technology deployment strategies
This position is responsible for providing technical solutions to address vulnerability findings and security gaps, as well as evaluating information security technologies and developing recommendations and implementation plans
Qualification
Required
Undergraduate degree
At least 8 years of enterprise security architecture, security engineering, and system administration experience
2–3 years of cloud security experience
Familiarity with CDM and DevOps concepts, including CI/CD and infrastructure as code
Industry-recognized security certification (CISSP, CAP, CEH, or Security+)
