RESEARCHER ASSISTANT

The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a skilled Researcher Assistant to work with the Principal Investigator on an NIH grant focused on cardiovascular diseases. Daily animal breeding and management

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification

Required

Associate's degree in a related field OR High School diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience required
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Microbiology is preferred
Experience working with experimental rodents and proficiency in routine molecular biology techniques is preferred
Desired hands-on skills include animal colony maintenance, genotyping, tissue culture, western blotting, and real-time PCR
