Roadway Design Engineering Intern
The State of Nebraska is seeking a Roadway Design Engineering Intern to join their Transportation agency. This role offers mentorship and on-the-job training, focusing on the design of roadway construction projects and assisting in various engineering tasks.

Responsibilities
Assist in the design of roadway construction projects
Be responsible for assisting in the review of work of a broad scope, complexity, and diversity
Design horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, roadway cross sections and other design features
Prepare preliminary and final construction project plans
Participate in and document engineering decisions, write special provisions and keep project correspondence files accurate and up to date
Prepare for and participate in project meetings including plan in hand, public information, public hearing, pre-appraisal and pre-construction meetings
Prepare for and participate in project field inspections
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be a three-fourths time student in good standing majoring in a discipline or field related to the work to be assigned
Must be able to work at least 10 hours a week when classes are in session, 15 hours a week preferred
Regular and reliable attendance is required
Preferred
A second semester sophomore majoring in engineering
Experience in the use of Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD)
