Responsibilities
Own all utility interconnection communications and deadlines
Prepare and review interconnection applications for DG solar + BESS projects
Review screening results, feasibility studies, system impact studies, and facilities studies
Identify distribution-level constraints (thermal, voltage, protection) early
Propose practical mitigation strategies and alternatives
Challenge and validate utility upgrade cost estimates
Work closely with electrical designers on single-line diagrams (SLDs) and assumptions
Translate technical findings into clear development and investment recommendations
Help build repeatable interconnection processes as the platform scales
Qualification
Required
Electrical Engineering degree
2–5 years experience in DG solar, storage, or distribution-level power systems
Hands-on exposure to utility interconnection processes
Comfort reviewing single-line diagrams, relay concepts, and study results
Curiosity about grid behavior and real-world constraints
Confidence asking questions and pushing back when assumptions don't hold
