Responsibilities
Ensuring documentation of all plants grown in the greenhouse
Communicating with instructors when processes are not being followed or when tasks are needed for successful plant production
Develops and coordinates scientific and horticultural instructional programs, laboratory procedures, and hands-on demonstrations in collaboration with faculty
Designs and constructs equipment, growing systems, and demonstration models for lecture, laboratory, and field-oriented courses
Supports courses requiring complex design and development, including experiments and demonstrations grounded in current research and applied best practices
Provides follow-up instruction and individualized support to students to reinforce learning outcomes
May teach or assist with the laboratory portion of selected courses
Maintains greenhouse and laboratory facilities as safe, clean, and operational instructional spaces
Grows and maintains plant collections for instructional use, identification collections, and plant sales
Keeps essential supplies stocked and manages tools, equipment, and workspace necessary for student learning
Coordinates laboratory and greenhouse support, maintenance
Qualification
Required
Experience in coordinating and delivering instructional, technical, and operational support for horticulture courses
Ability to design, develop, and implement instructional support programs and facilities
Knowledge of complex design, applied learning, and experiential education in horticulture
Experience in maintaining a safe and inclusive educational environment
Ability to document all plants grown in the greenhouse
Strong communication skills to interact with instructors and students
Experience in developing and coordinating scientific and horticultural instructional programs
Ability to design and construct equipment, growing systems, and demonstration models
Experience in providing follow-up instruction and individualized support to students
Ability to maintain greenhouse and laboratory facilities as safe, clean, and operational
Experience in growing and maintaining plant collections for instructional use
