Responsibilities

Lead the CMC Component Design EIS team in the shop, fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement
Champion Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) with safety as the top priority
Serve as the primary design engineering focal for the manufacturing team, partnering with site leadership to resolve build issues and improve producibility
Drive NPI and EIS execution for GE9X and support continued performance for LEAP, including projects critical to fleet reliability and entry-into-service readiness
Apply FLIGHT DECK principles to streamline engineering processes, reduce waste, standardize best practices, and improve responsiveness to the factory
Provide technical leadership on CMC design, durability, and manufacturability; review engineering work and guide complex problem-solving
Support fleet and field issues related to CMC components by partnering with services and field teams to identify root cause and implement corrective actions
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for design support, responsiveness, quality, and project execution, and use data to prioritize work
Develop talent within the team through coaching, mentoring, training, and succession planning to ensure long-term capability and continuity

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 6 years of experience in CMC design engineering and/or manufacturing (such as CMC component design, manufacturing process development, or shop support)

Preferred

Experience in a manufacturing environment, including frequent interaction with shop floor teams
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical topics and align diverse stakeholders
Proven interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to build trust, influence, and lead teams through change
Demonstrated problem-solving ability, especially at the intersection of design, materials, and manufacturing processes
Experience leading programs or projects, driving alignment on scope, schedule, and deliverables
Ability to document, plan, and execute programs, coordinating across multiple teams and functions
Established project management skills, including use of metrics and standard work to run the operation and drive continuous improvement
