Responsibilities
Programming: Advanced Python (data manipulation, automation, and object-oriented programming)
Data Platforms: Databricks (PySpark and SQL data manipulation), Spotfire (data visualization and integration)
Data Engineering: ETL processes, data pipelines, and cloud-based workflows
Version Control: Git/GitHub
Testing & Deployment: Unit testing, CI/CD pipelines
Reservoir engineering: Knowledge of reservoir engineering workflows and oil & gas industry data
Communication: Ability to interpret and refactor code developed by reservoir engineer into robust, production-ready solutions
Qualification
Required
Advanced Python (data manipulation, automation, and object-oriented programming)
Databricks (PySpark and SQL data manipulation)
Spotfire (data visualization and integration)
ETL processes, data pipelines, and cloud-based workflows
Git/GitHub
Unit testing, CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of reservoir engineering workflows and oil & gas industry data
Ability to interpret and refactor code developed by reservoir engineer into robust, production-ready solutions
5+ years of professional experience in Python development
3+ years working with data platforms such as Databricks and visualization tools like Spotfire
Experience collaborating with engineering or scientific teams to productionize existing code
Proven track record of building scalable, maintainable solutions in a data-driven environment
Preferred
Familiarity with Azure cloud environments
Experience with performance tuning and optimization of analytical models
