Senior Manager - Fraud Risk Strategy
EXL is seeking a Senior Manager in their Telecommunications practice to support clients in Credit & Fraud Risk and payments strategy. The role focuses on advisory tasks including policy review, stakeholder engagement, and strategy development to enhance business and risk decisions.

Responsibilities
Assess the design and effectiveness of fraud processes, controls, monitoring and reporting frameworks and case management effectiveness, identifying opportunities for standardization across business units
Develop structured insight-driven recommendations for credit risk supported by analysis and industry best practices, leveraging internal and external fraud detection and decisioning tools and platforms such as Feedzai, Featurespace
Produce compelling executive-ready storylines and presentations that synthesize insights and drive decision-making, and highlight process improvement and harmonization opportunities
Serve as a subject matter expert to drive client outcomes and strengthen EXL’s industry and functional capabilities
Qualification
Required
Bachelors / Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Engineering or a related quantitative field from a top-tier university, or an MBA with relevant domain experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in Credit & Fraud Risk and Collections Strategy and/or Operations, preferably in Strategy or Consulting roles
Deep domain understanding of industry standard processes across the fraud lifecycle including application, transaction, merchant, and dispute/chargeback management
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong client engagement and consulting skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders by creating compelling storylines
Excellent communication, presentation and storytelling skills with a data-driven orientation, and comfort operating in fast-evolving, ambiguous environments
Preferred
Experience with leading industry standard fraud technologies, such as Feedzai and Feature Space
Relevant certifications in Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, or Risk Management (e.g., CFE, FRM, PRM) are a plus
Prior consulting or advisory experience in telecom or adjacent industries
Experience operating in a Second Line of Defense (2LoD) or policy / risk oversight role
Familiarity with relevant regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, telecom consumer protection regulations) is a plus
Working knowledge of data visualization software such as Tableau, Power BI and Looker
