Responsibilities
Design end-to-end cloud architectures using AWS or Azure services for compute, storage, networking, security, and data platforms
Lead architecture decisions for cloud-native, hybrid, and migration initiatives
Define standards for availability, scalability, performance, security, and cost efficiency
Create architecture diagrams, technical design documents, and reference architectures
Guide engineering teams on implementation, patterns, and best practices
Ensure compliance with security, identity, and regulatory requirements
Perform cloud cost analysis and optimization (FinOps)
Support CI/CD, IaC, and DevOps practices
Act as a technical escalation point for complex cloud issues
Qualification
Required
Proven experience designing production workloads on AWS or Azure
Strong understanding of networking (VPC/VNet, subnets, routing, VPN, private connectivity)
Strong understanding of high availability and disaster recovery patterns
Strong understanding of identity and access management
Strong understanding of encryption, key management, and security controls
Experience with AWS services: EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, EBS, EFS, RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, VPC, Transit Gateway, Route 53, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CloudFormation / CDK / Terraform
Experience with Azure services: Virtual Machines, App Services, AKS, Functions, Blob Storage, Files, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, VNet, ExpressRoute, Azure Load Balancer, Entra ID (Azure AD), Key Vault, Monitor, ARM / Bicep / Terraform
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab, etc.)
Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Observability and logging strategies
14+ years in infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering
3+ years in a cloud architecture or senior cloud engineering role
Hands-on experience delivering complex cloud solutions
Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
