Systems Administrator - Public Works
The City of Mansfield, Texas Municipal Government is seeking a Systems Administrator for the Public Works Department. The role involves managing and improving computer-based management systems, ensuring data security and compliance, and providing technical support and training to department personnel.

Responsibilities
Lead the administration, implementation, and continuous improvement of computer-based management systems selected by the Public Works Department
Troubleshoot systems issues such as field user issues, data entry parameters, user permissions/restrictions
Configure, implement, and maintain all data control measures to ensure the most accurate computer-based management systems possible
Implement inventory control measures within software for the accurate tracking of Public Works inventory assets
Regularly audit systems to verify adherence to department standards and ensure the protection of sensitive data
Manage user accounts, ensuring proper access controls for department personnel in compliance with security policies
Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, coordinating updates, repairs, and ongoing system maintenance
Manage work orders and ensure timely updates to the asset management platform
Provide technical input on the procurement, implementation, and integration of new Public Works technology tools and platforms
Develop and conduct training programs for department personnel in computer-based management systems
Create and maintain system documentation, including user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and operational protocols for the department’s technology tools
Participate in technology infrastructure-related projects, providing expertise in the assessment, design, and implementation of new technology solutions
Assist with long-term planning and improvements for the department's technology infrastructure
Regularly monitor vendor websites for software patches and system updates, ensuring asset management systems remain up to date
Implement testing and quality assurance procedures for all asset management related platforms
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of Public Works systems, including GIS, data collection principles, and asset management principles and systems
Knowledge of public works department operations and how technology supports services
Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical staff, providing clear and concise communication
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
Skill in developing and maintaining system documentation and user training materials
Familiarity with Public Works-related software platforms such as Cartegraph/OpenGov, Tyler, VTSCADA, IT Pipes, SLRAT, Harmony MDM, ArcGIS/Esri, VEPO
Ability to analyze trends, monitor performance data, and provide reports to department leadership
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position
Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, asset management system administration, or technology systems
Preferred
OpenGov/Cartegraph Asset Management Administrator Certification
