Clinical Informatics Analyst
Hurley Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Informatics Analyst to enhance their clinical systems and workflows. The role involves collaborating with clinical experts, documenting and implementing computer systems, and providing support for clinical information systems.

Responsibilities
Contributes to clinical process discussions using a system-wide organizational focus
Collaborates with clinical experts on clinical protocol, workflows, and documentation requirements
Ensures that clinical practices are accurately, efficiently reflected, and supported in the documentation systems
Provides input into preparation of project plans and schedules (including work breakdown & task completion timeline) for approval of project manager
Participates as a liaison to supported clinical areas to provide clinical information system support, and progress reports on application design/implementation
Provides reports (written and/or verbal) to supervisors on project progress and status. Identifies and communicates issues requiring management attention
Fully adopts and follows all departmental processes such as (but not limited to) change control, IT ticketing system, Epic Content Management, Smartsheets, Google tools, project management tool utilization, and routine status updates and required communications (ex. Red Flag escalations, Root Cause Analysis)
Demonstrates a high level of knowledge and independence in their work and performs work in a proactive, self-motivated, and self-driven manner. Effectively and consistently participates in efforts to develop their personal & professional skills with the goal to benefit their teams and department
Develops and maintains applicable training documentation for departmental operations on Epic functionality and workflows. Supports customers in gaining/increasing knowledge of their applications
Develops and maintains testing scripts to ensure content is always relevant and accurate for proper system testing and validation of workflows
Mentors and develops less experienced staff in the Information Technology Department
Timely escalation and communication of all issues or concerns to the appropriate parties to ensure resolution and/or delivery of work
Demonstrates a high level of commitment to optimizing their application(s) by working effectively with Epic and the appropriate operational areas to ensure their application is currently and continuously in a status of 'Optimized'. This includes but not limited to, searching other organizations' best use of the system (e.g. Epic UGM, XGM, User Web) and working with the Epic vendor and other integrated vendors to offer the same optimization opportunities to our organization
Effectively participates on design teams and coordinates with other analysts, vendors, and operational owners to ensure proper integration of design, testing, and validation. While ensuring clinical care, workflow, revenue and protocol are appropriately considered in system development activities
Maintains application integration support needs where assigned. This includes, but not limited to documentation of integration points, workflow diagrams, and vendor support information to ensure business continuity
Performs other duties as assigned that are important to the Department or Medical Center
Qualification
Required
Clinical Degree Degree with a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience such as Nursing Diploma, ADN, BSN, NP, CRNA, PA, MD, DO, MBBS, or other similar clinical degrees
Five (5) years' experience in other clinical areas providing direct patient care or ancillary services. (Licensed/Certified/Registered/Accredited.)
A satisfactory result (TLA Composite greater than or equal to 13 and PSI greater than or equal to 45) on the EPIC screening examination
Demonstrated ability with computers and computer applications such as databases, spreadsheets, report writers, graphics, etc
Ability to identify and solve problems
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to conform to departmental performance standards
Ability to perform limited travel out of state for training or education
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers, other Medical Center employees, physicians, patients, and public
Obtain EPIC Certification in the assigned area of the EPIC system within six (6) months. Failure to obtain EPIC Certification within six (6) months shall result in the employee's termination
