Associate General Counsel
Lockheed Martin is expanding its legal capabilities to support multiple RMS market segments across the SEMS portfolio. The Associate General Counsel will serve as the primary legal lead for several market segments, providing end-to-end counsel on government, international, and commercial contracting matters while managing legal risks and advising leadership.

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary legal lead for several RMS market segments, reporting directly to the General Counsel of SEMS with a dotted‑line to the General Counsel of MIC2
Provide end‑to‑end counsel on U.S. government, international, and commercial contracting matters, including FAR/DFAR procurements, Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs), Commercial Services Agreements (CSOs), and related non‑traditional vehicles
Conduct proactive risk analyses, develop mitigation strategies, and advise functional and business leaders on legal implications
Deliver targeted training and guidance on best legal practices to senior leadership, VPs, and functional experts
Coordinate closely with internal subject‑matter experts and, when needed, outside counsel to resolve complex issues
Lead government protest and bid‑challenge matters, staying current on regulatory developments and recommending process improvements
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated experience drafting, negotiating, and administering Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs), Commercial Services Agreements (CSOs), and other non traditional procurement vehicles
Ability to navigate a broad spectrum of legal issues—contract formation, compliance, liability allocation, and termination—efficiently and to translate complex fact patterns into clear, actionable legal guidance
Proven proficiency with AI enabled contract analysis platforms, predictive analytics tools, and automated risk assessment dashboards
Skilled in leveraging these technologies to accelerate risk identification, enhance the accuracy of legal opinions, and improve the overall speed and quality of decision making
Track record of managing large, concurrent caseloads while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and meeting strict deadlines
Demonstrated organizational discipline and the capacity to prioritize competing demands without sacrificing analytical rigor
Strong interpersonal skills that foster trusted relationships with business units, functional teams, and senior leadership
Ability to act as a legal partner, providing counsel that aligns with business objectives while safeguarding legal risk
Experience handling government protest and bid challenge proceedings, including preparation of protest responses, appeals, and settlement negotiations
Familiarity with contemporary regulatory frameworks such as export controls, cybersecurity standards, data privacy statutes, and intellectual property considerations in international contracts
Capability to design and deliver concise, targeted legal training to non legal audiences, enhancing organizational compliance and risk awareness
Superior written and oral communication skills, enabling the clear articulation of sophisticated legal concepts to diverse stakeholders
