Program Coordinator, Great Lakes Native American Research Center for Health
Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Epidemiology Center (GLITEC) is a non-profit organization serving the Native American Tribes of Wisconsin. The Program Coordinator will support student career enhancement and research capacity building activities, collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance educational opportunities for indigenous students in health-related careers.

Responsibilities
Engage in long range planning, supervising and coordination of activities in various locations throughout the three-state area
Participate in regularly scheduled organization and program staff meetings; schedule, attend and support the Great Lakes NARCH program’s Community & Scientific Advisory Committee bi-annual meetings
Develop and distribute flyers, application forms, recruitment materials
Maintain accurate recordkeeping, utilize organizational accounting practices to properly route program expenditures
Coordination, planning and participation in Great Lakes NARCH annual student programs at academic partner locations such as Tribal Colleges/Universities, UW-Madison, Medical College of Wisconsin, (Indigenous Health and Wellness Days, American Indian Science Scholars Program, Native Nations Nursing, Helpers and Healers Summit), including recruitment of presenters for those events as needed
Maintains the recruitment process and selection criteria for students applying to Great Lakes NARCH Student Career Enhancement programming
Ensures compliance with program requirements and receives approvals as necessary
Maintains a software system to document and track student applications, maintain communication, monitor progress & success, arrange site visits as necessary, and maintain resources for referrals for students who need assistance
Coordination, planning and participation in research capacity building activities with the Great Lakes region’s Tribal Colleges/Universities
This would include quarterly meetings, in-person and videoconference technical skills and training sessions, purchasing of equipment/supplies for development of each tribal college’s infrastructure project
Assist in securing lodging; arranging transportation and meals; travel reimbursements and other needs for program meetings not already specified above
Assist with the program evaluation plan, collection of pertinent data via surveys, development of progress reports, and dissemination of program information at professional venues, as requested or necessary
Managing social media platforms for recruitment and communication purposes and gathering engagement data reports from those platforms
Coordinate, maintain and distribute quarterly program newsletter
Assures all services are delivered in a culturally appropriate manner
Participate in various committees both within and external to the organization as deemed necessary and appropriate to the position
Attend technical conferences, seminars, workshops and other educational events to remain current on technological and informational advances
Perform other duties as necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position
Qualification
Required
Experience in program coordination or related field
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups including Tribal Colleges/Universities and community organizations
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Experience with recruitment and student support services
Knowledge of grant-funded programs and administrative practices
Ability to maintain accurate recordkeeping and utilize organizational accounting practices
Experience in planning and coordinating events and meetings
Cultural competency and ability to deliver services in a culturally appropriate manner
Willingness to travel as necessary for program activities
Daily attendance is a requirement of this position
Preferred
Experience working with Native American communities
Familiarity with health-related and research careers
Experience in social media management for recruitment and communication
Knowledge of program evaluation and data collection methods
Experience in managing newsletters or similar communication tools
