Engineering Technician, Cell Cathode Engineering
Tesla’s Cathode Advanced Manufacturing team is pioneering the development and scaling of innovative cathode materials to power next-generation battery electric vehicles. As a Lead technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting all laboratory operations, overseeing equipment, collaborating with teams, and ensuring safety compliance.

Responsibilities
Comply with company regulations and policies while promoting a strong safety culture in the lab
Collaborate with EHS on compliance, waste management, MOC, and chemical hygiene activities
Lead 5S and efficiency improvement initiatives in the lab
Conduct & document equipment install and commissioning, inspection, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
Drive the creation and implementation of the preventative maintenance process to maximize uptime & asset life
Collaborate with facilities and construction teams to design and build state-of-the-art lab spaces to comply safety code
Collaborate with colleagues to drive equipment performance & availability
Qualification
Required
Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
3 + years experience in an R&D lab environment
Demonstrated experience supporting the needs of vendors, internal maintenance and engineering team timelines, objectives and goals
Ability to communicate clearly and interface with multiple engineering disciplines, vendors, craft experts, as well as executives
Must be able to demonstrate meticulous organizational and communication skills
Must have a strong sense of safety and be able to work independently or with others
