Payroll Specialist
LHH is a staffing firm working closely with a well-established construction client in the Pittsburgh region to bring on a skilled Payroll Specialist. The selected candidate will manage weekly payroll for over 100 employees, ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing in a fast-moving operational environment.
Responsibilities
Manage weekly payroll for 100+ employees across multiple job sites
Process union payroll, verifying wage rates, fringes, and compliance with collective bargaining requirements
Audit and validate timesheets, job codes, allocations, and payroll-related updates
Resolve payroll-related questions and discrepancies with accuracy and urgency
Prepare and submit required reports including union documentation, tax forms, and compliance-driven summaries
Partner with HR, accounting, and field leadership to maintain aligned and timely payroll operations
Qualification
Required
Prior union payroll experience is mandatory
Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience
Strong working knowledge of wage structures, overtime rules, fringes, and union agreements
Proficiency with payroll software and MS Excel
Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and problem‑solving abilities
Ability to work discreetly with sensitive information
Preferred
Background in construction payroll strongly preferred
