Asset Management Auditor

They are seeking an experienced Asset Management Audit – Staff Auditor to lead and execute audit activities across various functions for a leading banking client in New York City, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Lead comprehensive audits of Global Prime Funds operations, including fund administration, portfolio management, trading, compliance, and operations
Plan and execute audit engagements across multiple jurisdictions (US, EMEA, APAC)
Assess key risks including liquidity, credit, operational, and regulatory compliance
Execute audit testing aligned with SOC 1/2, ISAE 3402, SEC Rule 2a-7, and MMFR standards
Document audit findings, prepare detailed reports, and present results to senior management
Manage and deliver multiple major audits annually
Ensure compliance with SEC Investment Company Act, Rule 2a-7, and FINRA regulations
Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on audit strategies
Evaluate compliance programs including NAV calculations, shadow pricing, and liquidity assessments
Support regulatory examinations by SEC, FINRA, FCA, and MAS
Review regulatory filings such as Form N-MFP and Form PF
Provide strategic advisory support on control design, process improvement, and risk mitigation
Advise stakeholders on new products, technologies, and operational changes
Conduct pre-implementation risk assessments and control reviews
Act as a subject matter expert for Prime Funds and Asset Management operations
Partner with Portfolio Management, Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Technology teams
Present audit findings to C-suite executives and Board-level committees
Coordinate with external auditors and Fund Boards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA, CIA, CISA, or CFA certification required
8+ years of audit experience within Asset Management
3+ years of experience in Money Market or Prime Funds audits
Background in Big 4, internal audit, or consulting environments
Proven experience leading complex audits in global organizations
Strong experience managing senior and executive-level stakeholders
Asset Management operations across Front Office, Middle Office, and Back Office
Money Market Fund regulations including SEC Rule 2a-7 and related reforms
Fund accounting, NAV calculations, and pricing methodologies
Risk and control frameworks such as COSO and COBIT
Financial instruments including repos, commercial paper, CDs, and treasuries
Audit and analytics tools such as ACL, IDEA, Tableau, and TeamMate
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Advanced Excel and data analytics proficiency
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a matrixed organization
Preferred
MBA or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
10+ years of total experience with 5+ years in Asset Management
Big 4 Asset Management practice experience
Knowledge of UCITS and international money market fund regulations
Experience with SQL, Python, or advanced analytics tools
