Student Assistant - FWS
The University of South Florida Libraries is seeking a Student Assistant for their Environmental Compliance and Lab Safety programs. The role involves supporting administrative tasks, data management, and field data collection to maintain compliance and safety within laboratory settings.

Responsibilities
Assist with environmental programs and sustainability initiatives
Support documentation and tracking of compliance activities
Help conduct fume hood inspections and compliance checks
Collect, organize, and analyze safety and compliance data
Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and summaries using Excel and other tools
Assist with general office tasks such as filing, scanning, and record organization
Provide support for EHS management systems
Assist with policy development and maintenance of safety procedures
Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives
Qualification
Required
Current USF student with a Spring 2026 FWS (Federal Work Study) Award pursuing a degree in natural science or Public Health, or a related field. You must upload a copy of your Spring 2026 FWS Award to be considered for this position
Preferred
Experience with office productivity tools including spreadsheets, word processing, and basic database systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable and able to work effectively within laboratory settings
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the full Microsoft Office Suite
Willingness to learn new systems, processes, and analytical methods
