Responsibilities
Provide legal advice on employment law issues including hiring, performance management, terminations, wage and hour compliance, and workplace investigations
Draft and review employment-related agreements and policies
Monitor and interpret changes in employment laws and regulations
Partner with HR to develop compliant and effective employee relations strategies
Partner with HR to help manage and respond to employee relations issues and grievances
Support internal investigations and compliance reviews
Experience working directly with management
Experience managing and completing complex projects
Led strategy for all company litigation, including employment, class/collective action, wage & hour, discrimination, harassment and other related area
Manage pre-litigation claims, agency charges (e.g., EEOC, DOL, etc.) and demand letters
Assistance with direction and oversight of outside counsel; work collaboratively in setting litigation strategy, budgets and case posture
Identify litigation and claims trends and translate them into preventive action
Develop and deliver training on harassment, wage & hour, documentation and investigations
Partner with Risk Management to identify trends and help coordinate with insurers and TPA on employment-related claims
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active bar membership
Minimum of 4–7 years of legal experience
Experience supporting senior leadership
Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws and corporate governance practices
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
High level of integrity and discretion
