Responsibilities
Handling data calls and preparing requested financial information
Reconciling data to the general ledger and automated journal entries
Investigating variances and collaborating with team members on resolution
Assisting with monthly close activities as needed
Preparing and supporting quarterly journal entries
Assisting with quarterly statistical and tax reporting requirements
Providing financial reports and supporting documentation to internal stakeholders
Performing other general accounting and financial support tasks as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent relevant experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance accounting
Strong understanding of GAAP and insurance-related financial reporting
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve issues independently
Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
Strong critical thinking skills and a natural curiosity to analyze financial data and processes
