Manufacturing Engineer
Wisconsin Heavy Fabrication is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design and implement manufacturing related tools, processes, and methods. This role will involve hands-on work from initial quotation through to product shipment, focusing on improving efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
Responsibilities
Perform any or all of the necessary tasks related to product fabrication:
Interpret customer technical specifications and assist in clearly communicating requirements to manufacturing floor through drawings or work instructions
Support manufacturing documentation creation through routing definition, and ERP system support as needed
Design jigs and fixtures as needed
Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean tools and methods
Support identification and management of Capital Improvement projects
Support quick and accurate cost estimates including manufacturing strategy, initial routings, and special tooling requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering required
Associate degree in mechanical design with extensive work experience may be considered
1+ years' experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
Hands-on experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment required
Must possess valid driver's license and proof of insurance
Ability to detail drawings to industry standards and codes such as ASME, AISC
Preferred
Experience with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing a plus
Experience with heavy weldments, metal fabrication, painting, and assembly operations is highly desired
Familiarity with welding processes to include Sub arc, MIG, and TIG is a plus
Experience in generating estimates is a plus
