Senior Snowflake Administrator with Databricks
iPivot is seeking a highly experienced Senior Snowflake Administrator to lead the management, optimization, and security of their cloud data platform supporting core banking and financial workloads. The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in Snowflake administration and will be responsible for overseeing security controls, performance tuning, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
Administer and manage all Snowflake environments (Production, UAT, QA, Development) across large-scale enterprise setups
Configure, optimize, and maintain warehouses, databases, schemas, roles, users, and resource monitors
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance, concurrency, and cost metrics
Implement and oversee security controls including RBAC, row-level security, column masking, and secure views
Manage data sharing, cloning, time travel, and fail-safe features to support operational needs
Conduct capacity planning, usage forecasting, and cost management aligned with business priorities
Resolve performance bottlenecks, query issues, and system anomalies efficiently
Support data platforms managing banking, financial reporting, risk analytics, fraud detection, and regulatory reporting
Ensure compliance with financial regulations such as SOX, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and internal audit standards
Collaborate with security and compliance teams during audits, access reviews, and data governance initiatives
Maintain high levels of system availability, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity
Automate routine administrative and operational tasks utilizing SQL, Python, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines
Support platform monitoring, alerting, and incident management
Oversee platform upgrades, environment migrations, and release management
Maintain comprehensive operational documentation, runbooks, and best practice guidelines
Act as a technical advisor on Snowflake best practices and architecture
Mentor and guide junior administrators and platform engineers
Engage with data engineers, architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to optimize data platform operations
Contribute to architectural reviews and future platform roadmap planning
Qualification
Required
5+ years of hands-on Snowflake administration experience in enterprise environments
Strong background supporting financial or banking data platforms
Advanced SQL proficiency and comprehensive understanding of data warehousing concepts
Experience working on Azure cloud platform
Deep understanding of security, IAM, encryption, and compliance controls
Preferred
Experience with Databricks administration (workspaces, clusters, jobs, access controls)
Familiarity with Databricks–Snowflake integrations
Relevant Snowflake or Databricks certifications
Skills with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
Exposure to data governance, metadata management, and lineage tools
