Responsibilities

Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety regulations and guidelines
Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders
Conduct product development testing according to established protocols
Perform ASTM and ISTA testing with precision and accuracy
Ensure strict adherence to all ASTM, ISTA, UN, TAPPI, and Pratt Industries standard operating procedures
Maintain and verify the calibration of all laboratory testing equipment
Coordinate the repair and maintenance of all laboratory equipment to minimize downtime
Interpret the impact of testing results on corrugated packaging performance
Monitor and maintain specified laboratory environmental conditions
Collaborate with the Quality Manager and team members in the planning and execution of projects
Independently manage and complete projects as assigned by the Quality Manager, ensuring timely and accurate results
Assist other Quality staff members with their assigned projects
Proactively observe equipment conditions and promptly report any potential malfunctions or issues to the Quality Manager
Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by the Quality Manager

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Access and Excel
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear
The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
The employee is occasionally required to sit
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration
The noise level in the work environment is typically loud

Preferred

A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Quality Auditor or Quality Technician
