Visiting Research Specialist - Ong lab
The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is a prominent urban public research university. The Visiting Research Specialist will support and provide technical assistance for research projects, collaborating with researchers to develop, execute, and interpret experiments while performing various laboratory and data collection techniques.

Responsibilities
Conduct experiments in close collaboration with postdocs, with the possibility of executing independent projects depending on experience
Work efficiently and cooperatively with a team of researchers and proactively support all aspects of our lab’s research including obtaining animal protocol approvals, IBCs, grants etc
Participate in laboratory meetings and maintenance
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in science or related field required
A minimum of 3 years related research experience
Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods
Proficient in specific lab research techniques
Preferred
B.A./B.S. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related discipline
Experience with PCR, Western blotting, protein gels, and mouse husbandry is highly preferred
Excellent communication skills and the ability to conduct research both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Strong sense of responsibility and a high level of motivation and independence
