Communications Operator
Chesapeake Regional Healthcare is seeking a Communications Operator to manage the hospital's switchboard. This role involves providing routine information, directing calls, and utilizing the overhead paging system while ensuring effective communication within the hospital.

Responsibilities
Answer all incoming calls and provide direct dial numbers as appropriate
Respond to emergency calls and codes following established protocols
Assist callers by using the paging or beeping systems as needed
Utilize the CRMC Information Technology programs designated by the Manager—i.e. Patient Information System, E-mail, and Telecommunications software—proficiently
Monitor and follow protocols for alarms announced in the Telecommunications office
Maintain required records and statistics
Assist in the maintenance and care of department equipment and supplies
Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services
Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred
One (1) or more years' previous experience in Telecommunication Operations
