Responsibilities

Create design of battery systems for current and new battery system applications within the context of NTI (New Technology Introduction), NPI (New Product Introduction), or CPI (Current Product Improvement)
Utilize a robust problem solving and implementation process to resolve and improve designs
Evaluate and optimize designs of battery mount structures, cooling systems, and high voltage electrical connections using structural and thermal simulation tools
Collaborate with suppliers on design and manufacturability to meet time and cost targets
Contribute to the development of battery system FMEAs and validation plans
Support colleagues in the design, build, or validation processes to ensure product requirements and development schedules are met
Protect Caterpillar’s intellectual property

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Experience on the design and development of battery pack/rack or similar electrical integration systems
Proficiency with Creo (or equivalent) and familiarity with Teamcenter (or equivalent model database system)
Strong analytical skills and understanding of complex engineering concepts and applications
Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well in other units, customers, and suppliers
Ability to manage working on multiple projects simultaneously
Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts
Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production
