CNC Vertical Mill & Lathe Setup Machinist

Responsibilities
Set up and operate vertical mills and lathes to produce custom parts within print tolerance
Review work orders; pull setup instructions and prints directly from Epicor
Interpret blueprints and select, adjust, or partially write CNC programs as needed
Execute changeovers with precision; manage both manual and automated steps
Deburr to spec using a deburring wheel and hand tools
Measure parts with calipers and other hand tools; verify conformance to tolerance
Apply offsets when parts trend out of spec to maintain accuracy
Scan parts into Epicor and record dates and job details for traceability
Partner with engineers to optimize cycle time, tooling, and overall efficiency
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma
Ability to safely lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs
Proficient in reading and editing G‑code
Performance review criteria to proceed in the process: at most two 'Inconsistent' ratings on the most recent review; no 'Unsatisfactory' ratings; and no more than one documented written warning within the past 12 months
Preferred
2+ years operating similar CNC equipment preferred
