Responsibilities
Provide architectural leadership and subject matter expertise for enterprise data and analytics modernization initiatives
Design, document, and implement scalable cloud-based data architectures including data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse platforms
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into data models, architectures, and technical solutions
Lead development of current-state and future-state conceptual, logical, and physical data models
Architect and guide implementation of data ingestion, integration, and orchestration pipelines (batch, CDC, and streaming)
Design enterprise data exchange and API-based integration architectures to replace legacy point-to-point integrations
Provide guidance on data quality, data governance, metadata management, lineage, and master data management solutions
Ensure data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance through encryption, masking, anonymization, RBAC/ABAC controls, and monitoring
Architect and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, availability, disaster recovery, and cost efficiency
Collaborate with security teams to ensure HIPAA and sensitive data compliance across the data ecosystem
Lead design and implementation of analytics, business intelligence, and data science platforms
Incorporate AI and machine learning capabilities to enhance data profiling, anomaly detection, governance, and analytics efficiency
Review solution designs, technical specifications, and test plans to ensure best practices and feasibility
Support proof-of-concepts, pilots, and sandbox environments for emerging technologies and tools
Produce and maintain architecture documentation in alignment with SDLC standards
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to internal teams
Communicate effectively with leadership, technical teams, and business stakeholders to present strategies, roadmaps, and status updates
Participate in governance meetings, project status meetings, and cross-functional collaboration efforts
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree (4-year) in Computer Science, Analytics/Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Public Health Informatics, or a related field
Current data and/or analytics certification, such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
In lieu of certification, 18+ hours of participation in data and analytics–related webinars or conferences within the last 3 years may be accepted
10+ years of experience in data modeling and data profiling/reverse engineering, including: Entity Relationship (ER), Conceptual, Logical, and Physical data models
Schema-on-read and schema-on-write environments
Required proficiency with erwin Data Modeler
6+ years of experience architecting, engineering, implementing, and supporting data warehouses, including: 2+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake Data Warehouse
6+ years of experience with data pipeline and integration tools, including: Deployment, mapping/design, observability, orchestration, performance optimization, testing, and engineering
ETL/batch, CDC, and streaming methods
Tools such as Informatica, AWS Glue, MuleSoft, Spark, AWS Kinesis, or Kafka
6+ years of experience with SQL programming
3+ years of experience with Python or a similar object-oriented language
1+ year of experience with AWS Lambda functions
5+ years of experience interfacing directly with multiple lines of business, demonstrating: Strong understanding of general business operations
Preference for healthcare-related experience
Ability to communicate technical architectures and data models to non-technical audiences
5+ years of experience architecting and engineering relational and NoSQL databases, including: Relational (row-based and columnar), NoSQL (Document, Graph, Vector, Key-Value)
5+ years of experience in data and analytics testing, quality assurance, and acceptance, including: Best practices, Tools and automation
4+ years of experience architecting and implementing cloud-based Analytics and Business Intelligence (ABI) tools, such as: Qlik, Tableau, Power BI
3+ years of experience architecting and supporting cloud-based data lakes, including: AWS S3 lake layers and bucket structures, Apache Foundation tools such as Parquet
3+ years of experience working with cloud infrastructure and security teams to: Design and implement AWS-based data and analytics ecosystems
3+ years of experience working with security teams to architect and implement: Data protection and data loss prevention, RBAC and ABAC controls, Privacy and regulatory compliance, with emphasis on HIPAA
3+ years of experience designing and implementing data governance and data management solutions, including: Data Quality, Data Catalog and/or Metadata Management, Data Profiling and Lineage, Tools such as Informatica IDMC, Collibra, or Precisely
3+ years of experience designing and implementing internal and external data sharing hubs, including: API-based data exchanges, API governance, optimization, and performance monitoring
2+ years of experience architecting and supporting cloud data lakehouse platforms, including: Databricks, Snowflake, or AWS, Delta Lake, Hudi, or Iceberg
2+ years of experience implementing Master Data Management (MDM) solutions, using: Informatica MDM, Semarchy, Reltio
2+ years of experience utilizing DevOps or DataOps practices
2+ years of experience architecting and implementing cloud-based Data Science and Machine Learning (DSML) platforms, including: SAS Viya, AWS SageMaker, Dataiku, Statistical model lifecycle management, endpoints, and machine learning workflows
