Responsibilities
Own and maintain the claims product backlog, ensuring items are well-defined, prioritized, and ready for engineering execution
Gather and refine requirements through stakeholder interviews, claims flow analysis, and hands-on review of operational scenarios
Serve as the primary point of contact for Commercial Lines product Claims initiatives
Understands and communicates the product vision, roadmap, and priorities for Commercial Lines products in alignment with the Product Manager and business stakeholders
Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and edge cases that reflect real claims behavior, not happy paths
Collaborate with engineering on solution design, tradeoffs, and sequencing
Participating in SDLC activities including backlog grooming, sprint planning, UAT coordination, and release validation
Ensure claims functionality aligns with SLAs, regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards
Clearly communicate roadmap progress, risks, and outcomes to internal stakeholders
Cultivates a product mindset, ensuring team-level understanding and alignment with product strategy throughout development and innovation activities, navigating ambiguity, and embracing change
Owns, manages, and regularly prioritizes the user story backlog. Refines features and user stories in collaboration with the Business Analyst
Leads demonstration of business value and guides teams through agile ceremonies, program planning, defect remediation, and continuous improvement activities
Proactively manages team-level dependencies, adapting delivery plans and communicating impacts as appropriate
Collaboratively manages measurement and tracking of outcomes and status reporting at the team level
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated experience working on claims systems (P&C insurance,)
Strong understanding of claims
Comfort working with data (SQL or analytics tools) to validate assumptions and outcomes
Experience with Bureau reporting and statistical reporting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for explaining complex workflows clearly
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, SAFe)
Strong understanding of Claims workflow within P&C insurance specially Commercial Lines
Proficiency with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence)
General understanding of software development principles to effectively communicate with the development team and understand their challenges
Preferred
CSPO, SAFE POPM
Any P&C insurance certification and/or claims
