Center Administrator, Semel HCI Center

Inside Higher Ed is seeking a Center Administrator for the Semel Healthy Campus Initiative (HCI) Center at UCLA. This role provides executive administrative support to the Associate Vice Provost, managing schedules, coordinating projects, and overseeing initiatives aimed at improving the health and well-being of the UCLA community.

Responsibilities

Provide the highest level of executive administrative support for the AVP including managing the AVP's executive travel and meeting schedules
Attend meetings with the AVP and provide notetaking and other pertinent functions to ensure all projects are kept on task
Provide coordination and oversight for signature Semel HCI Center projects, programs, and events
Exercise significant judgement, discretion, and organizational acumen to successfully provide high-level assistance and coordination
Implement the AVP's vision for health and well-being for the UCLA community (including all faculty, staff and students)
Evolve a culture of health at UCLA, within the UC system, in the state, in the nation and world-wide

Required

Minimum of 4 years of executive assistant experience supporting a high-level, university leader at UCLA (or at a similar institution of higher learning) in a fast-paced, large-complex department
Experience in coordinating projects in a fast-paced environment with ability to work independently in a complex working environment that requires great flexibility, efficiency, quick response time and prioritization of tasks with multiple and competing deadlines
Demonstrated excellence in administrative, time, and organizational skills to manage multiple and complex projects within designated schedules, set priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of job duties and effectively complete assigned tasks to meet goals and objectives
Demonstrated experience in managing complex priorities related to projects for multiple entities from UCLA, UCOP and other UC campuses
Demonstrated strategic thinking, planning and implementation skills coupled with solid professional judgment to anticipate problems and develop innovative solutions to correct problems or anticipate/prevent obstacles
Demonstrated ability to address complex issues utilizing a clear, thoughtful manner and to come to resolution quickly without compromising the projects or relationships with the people involved
Excellent oral and written communication skills to clearly convey and obtain information to individuals at various organizational levels and to groups of different constituencies. Outstanding editing skills to ensure the highest standards of consistency, professionalism, accuracy are met
Ability to effectively build and maintain cooperative working relationships with diverse stakeholders representing a variety of fields, UCLA administrative units and academic departments, UCOP and other UC campuses
Experience in representing a high-level university leader such as the AVP in various UCLA/university settings
Demonstrated experience with working effectively and collaboratively with colleagues
