Clinical Pharmacist - Program Support (Informatics and Safety)
The Chillicothe VA Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to support the implementation of the Federal Electronic Health Record (FEHR) and enhance patient safety. The role involves analyzing medication-related issues, managing FEHR solutions, and participating in quality improvement initiatives within the Pharmacy Service.

Responsibilities
Works in concert with applicable Pharmacy and Informatics staff to develop local FEHR solutions
Initiates and tracks reports on requested functionalities placed with National Veteran Affairs Offices
Participates in Medical Center quality improvement initiatives for medication safety
Assists with medication recalls and/or shortage situations to mitigate medication safety concerns
Coordinates ongoing, proactive processes or policy development to evaluate and improve safe medication management strategies
Assists in ensuring pharmacy department is compliant with VA federal, state, and local polices and regulations related to informatics systems, interfaces, and applications
Participates in pharmacy workflows as requested by supervisor. This includes processing, counseling, product verification, and dispensing roles performed by GS-12 clinical pharmacists
Serves as a preceptor to pharmacy students and residents, as assigned

English Language Proficiency: Pharmacists must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), and 7407(d)
Education Requirement: Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree
Licensure: Full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia
To qualify for the GS-12 grade level, and in addition to the basic qualifications, you must meet one of the following requirements and associated grade level knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) listed below: One year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) OR Completion of an ACPE-accredited Pharm.D. program
Knowledge of professional pharmacy practice
Ability to communicate orally and in writing to both patients and health care staff
Knowledge of laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to the distribution and control of scheduled and non-scheduled drugs and pharmacy security
Skill in monitoring and assessing the outcome of drug therapies, including physical assessment and interpretation of laboratory and other diagnostic parameters
