PERSONNEL SPECIALIST
The California Department of State Hospitals is seeking to fill a permanent, full-time Personnel Specialist position within their Personnel Office. Demonstrate the ability to apply the State laws, departmental and control agency rules and regulations, and collective bargaining agreement provisions pertaining to a variety of personnel transactions in the areas of personnel record keeping, certification, payroll, and personnel documents processing and related personnel transactions functions
Advise employees on their benefits
Process personnel documentation into the computer
Interpret and use job-related reference material
Work independently
Qualification
Required
Ability to apply the State laws, departmental and control agency rules and regulations, and collective bargaining agreement provisions pertaining to a variety of personnel transactions
Experience in personnel record keeping, certification, payroll, and personnel documents processing
Ability to advise employees on their benefits
Ability to process personnel documentation into the computer
Punctuality and good attendance
Positive attitude
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to interpret and use job-related reference material
Preferred
Computer skills are desirable
Benefits
Per CalHR Personnel Specialist position is eligible for an annual payment up to $4,800, payable upon meeting the designated criteria as stated in Pay Differential 240
