Patient Billing/Services Representative II - Orthopedic Surgery
Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis is seeking a Patient Billing/Services Representative II for their Orthopedic Surgery department. The role involves greeting patients, managing check-in and check-out processes, verifying insurance, and maintaining patient flow in a clinical office setting.

Responsibilities
Responsible for greeting, registering and checking in New, Return and Walk-in patients. Will also check-out and schedule appointments
Updates and verifies patient insurance, referrals and demographic information in EPIC as needed
Collects copays, self-pay payments and fees for services as needed
Balances cash drawer daily
Serves as back up for other staff during peak times, vacations and illnesses
Travel to other locations may be required
Maintains familiarity with insurance companies and their requirements
Adheres to HIPAA regulations and all Orthopedic/front desk policies
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date
Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements)
